Victoria Kovalenchikova

BIOGRAPHY

Victoria Kovalenchikova was born in Mogilev, Belarus. She currently lives and works out of Amsterdam. She studied at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts and taught painting and drawing at Belarusian State Pedagogic University, beginning in 2002.

In 2011, Kovalenchikova was honoured for her contributions to Belarusian arts and culture by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus.

In the same year, Kovalenchikova’s paintings “NO EXIT”, 2011 and “Reflected Reality”, 2010 won the Gold Medal of Honor ‘LORENZO Il MAGNIFICO’ at the VIII International Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art. Her landscape sculptures are profoundly detailed with structural intricacy similar to the earth surface—making for an intoxicating experience for the viewer.
